You cannot spell the holidays without cookies! I know that my kitchen has been hot with the smell of pumpkin, sugar, and cinnamon this holiday season, so naturally my foster dogs have been whipping out their showstopping, award-winning puppy eyes. They really are so adorable and it bums me out when I do not always have a fresh stack of treats waiting for them! As I have been home more often with the holidays, I have been baking a storm and this recipe has been a favorite across the board for all of my fosters. These peanut butter pumpkin treats are easy to make, and I guarantee that your pup will LOVE them!
Recipe:
3/4 cup pumpkin puree (or mashed sweet potato)
¼ cup peanut butter
½ cup water
1.5 cups almond meal
½ cup coconut flour
Bone shaped cookie cutter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 225 F
Grease baking tray
In a large bowl, mix together almond meal and coconut flour
Combine pumpkin or sweet potato, peanut butter, and water in a separate bowl
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Divide dough in half to make it easier to roll, then roll out into ¼ inch discs (you can use a rolling pin, but don’t need to!)
Use cookie cutter and place cookies on greased tray
Bake 25 min
Turn oven off and let treats cool in the oven for an hour so they become crunchy
Spoil your doggies! Treats will keep for 1-2 weeks.
These delicious treats are sure to make their tails wag and their bellies full. Send OC Pom Rescue photos of your happy and hungry doggos!
